Easy Pavlova Roll !!

Pavlova Roll
Pavlova is one of those must try desserts of Australia....It has that soft texture inside which just melts in the mouth with a crispy outer cover....I had no idea of how a meringue-based dessert like pavlova is made...Googling helped me found out that it is just egg white whipped to form this nice texture....!!

You get Pavlova with a lot of whipped cream topping which always make me reluctant in having them from outside...So I tried this one without much of cream filling & less sugar too....I didn't want to regret of the calorie intake after indulging in too much of  cream, though it is very tempting......So if you are happy with the cream , please add in generously and I am sure that it  do make a difference !!

The basic Pavlova is made in the shape of a cake and it is oven baked and then topped with whipped cream and lots if fruits...I was in a hurry to make a dessert and so I tired the Microwave Pavlova Roll ...

Here is the simple recipe to try out for your next part time !!

  1. Egg Whites              -  4
  2. Castor Sugar           - 3/4 cup
  3. Vanilla Essence      - 1 tsp
  4. Vinegar                   - 1 tsp
  5. Corn Flour              - 2tsps ( a pinch of cream of tartar can be used instead)
  6. Walnuts ground           - enough for topping
  7. Fruits of your choice  - for filling
  8. Whipped Cream         - for filling
  9. Icing Sugar                  - for dusting

  1. Beat the egg whites on high speed until they turn stiff & peaks start forming.(see pic 1).
  2. Add the castor sugar little by little while still beating until it is mixed well.
  3. Finally add in ingredients 3, 4 & 5 and beat again to mix it uniformly.
  4. Spread a sheet of baking paper over the microwave turnable and dust it with ground walnuts in a square shape.
  5. Scoop the beaten egg white on the top and spread it uniformly with a non stick spatula.
  6. Add some walnut powder in the top too ( optional).
  7. Microwave it for 3 mins. Once done, keep the microwave door open for sometime before taking it out and then keep it for cooling.
  8. Once cooled down, spread the whipped cream generously on it and arrange the fruits of your choice ( You can see that I was a bit stingy in using cream and not much of fruits was left..So I just added some cherries !!)
  9. Roll it carefully and dust with icing sugar. Keep this refrigerated until ready to cut & serve.
  10. Serve chilled along with some ice cream & Enjoy !!
